PAYASWINI - GOSALA

International Sreekrishna Kendram (ISK) is an International Institution established to teach and propagate immortal Sreekrishna Ideologies. The ISK has visualized to come up with a model Krishna Village, bringing out in detail the life of the Ambadi habitants.

Cows and its progeny have been the basis of our rich heritage as well the resource base.  The respect and regard that cows command in our society and culture are based on their invaluable and many faceted role it played in the overall development of our society and culture.

The benefits from Cow and its progeny that men derived are established for over one millennium.   Cows have been the dearest companion in human life.  The fabric of Indian life is interwoven with that of the cow. Our spirituality, healthcare, dharma, agriculture and economy are dependent on the cows, as you could learn from a closer look.  How the life of millions at 'Anand'' was transformed, is a vibrant example of its importance even today.

However over the years, importance of our holy cow revered by millions in the past, has been slowly declining.  The over ambitious humans running after material gains forgot his base leading to decay of social values, further leading to catastrophe. Resultant erosion of household economic stability has led to malnutrition among the children and they are left to be victims of dangerous diseases etc. leading to the creation of an unhealthy posterity.  Cows are neglected and man preferred to send them to slaughterhouses than mending them.

It has been a painful experience to the ISK to witness such mean material approach to our benefactors and thought it befitting to come out with some tangible steps to protect these animals and thus the humanity.  To instill awareness to protect, propagate, popularise and promote the cows is the role that ISK has taken over on itself while coming out with a cow protection unit (Goshala) to its comprehensive master plan.

The proposed Gosala project is planned to house at least 500 cows to begin with.  These cows will be procured through donations from individuals and institutions.  Such donations will have to be accompanied by furnishing maintenance expenses for at least one year.  We are at ease with enquiries on the matter from some of the renowned institutions.

The proposed project is to come up in a sprawling 5 acre  land within the proposed ISK campus with extra provision made for fodder cultivation and other amenities.  The idea behind the project is to re-establish the traditional Gokulam concept in the model Sreekrishna village with the unique  Sreekrishna temple at its centre.

The ISK has already secured services of experts in the field to go deep into the details of the project.  The project is estimated to cost around Rs. 2.5 crore.  Many philanthropic individuals and institutions have offered their help.  However, the same is far short of the estimated cost.

We, therefore, call upon you to come up with your liberal hand and to help the project with financial assistance so that the Gosala become functional, at the earliest. Your participation in the project will definitely be a step nearer to the success of the project.
